This is a before photo of the front porch
The construction started with the framing
The decking is installed and stained and the landscape started
The landscape is finished and the railing is complete
Four years before this project I built the deck in the backyard, power washing and staining that deck was the conclusion of this project

This is a pressure treated deck with a semi-transparent natural cedar-tone stain
We will start at the front porch that was built using the same materials as the house. On the upper level there are two built-in planter boxes with impatients planted every spring.
This is the side walkway from the garage to the front porch
To the backyard, after walking thru the gate this walkway leads up to the screened-in porch that was built a few years after the deck was completed. To the right a perennial garden
This is the perennial garden in full bloom with an overall look of the pool, sun deck and all the way to the left the shade structure for the bar
Going along the walkway and down a few steps to the right we are at pool level with a view of the main deck
A closer look at the landscape, bar and sun deck
Inside the bar
The landscape to the right of the bar with the sun deck and notice the upper waterfall in the center of the photograph
A view of the upper waterfall, upper pond, river leading to the left and the lower pond
Moving to the back of the pond where you can see the lower waterfall and the shed
The lower pond when the Black-eyed Susans are in bloom
The back side of the bar showing the staircase to the upper deck
Moving to the left of the property is a view of a beautiful Lime-Greem Cut Leaf Maple
Looking to the left a little more is the shed, when the deck was first built this was a sand box for the kids, now since they have long grown out of the sand box faze, a more useful shed is there
Standing on the kitchen deck an overall look at the property. The screened-in porch is out of the picture to the right
While walking around photographing there is this dragonfly landscape ornament near the pond that a real dragonfly landed on, with camera in hand, viola That’s Kewl.
I built this deck in 1984 and I have been maintaining it and the property for 27 years.

This patio off the driveway used to be concrete with a blue stone laid on the grass as a walkway leading to a pressure treated deck. Lets go for a photo walk.
The concrete pad was changed to a 12′ x 16′ Interlocking Paver Patio and the walkway of the same material
Going up a few steps and continuing on the walkway
Around the back end of the Gazebo
Still on the walkway
Leading to the second 12′ x 16′ patio, and the walkway goes to the left for the pool access
A look back to see how the Gazebo blends with the house
On the deck with my back to the Gazebo
Turn around to see the upper deck and Gazebo
Lets go into the Gazebo where there is a custom Contemporary Kitchen Cabinets
Walking into the kitchen and turning
I mentioned the deck was pressure treated, but that was changed to cedar with a custom cedar railing with aluminum spindles.

Going down that walkway leads you to another walkway for the deck or to the right for the main patio. If you decide to go straight then down the steps to the lower patio

There are two entrances to the patio, this is the first from the street
This staircase was first built 31 years ago using railroad ties and blue stone, after that length of time it needed to be rebuilt, so I discussed all the newer materials with the homeowners used in this type of construction and they made the decision to use the same kind of material for this look.
After going up the stairs ther is a small blue stone landing to this walkway
Going up these steps to a stone walkway leading to the railroad steps
Then onto the Interlocking Paver patio

This is what the area looked like when I first arrived
This project was the front fence and gate, walkway, patio, landscape, rear fence and side porch
This is the same area after the fence and gate where built and stained white. This house is near the shore so I cut the fence and gate to give the impression of ocean waves
Let’s open the gate and go in for a walk. Now you can see the serpentine walkway leading to the composite deck with vinyl railings.

In this series of five photographs you will be viewing a cedar deck, bule stone walkway with landscape, an upper deck and a great room that the windows and doors were changed, and the interior was demoed and rebuilt with cedar planks on the walls, a bar area and a full bathroom.
The first photo is of the walkway and landscape view from the deck. The upper deck is visable and the lattice and planking under the porch, you can see an opening in the lattice that is where the pool shower is
Here is the cedar deck approx 1200 Sq. ft. and the complete view of the house and how everything is integrated into a flow from the walkway to the dining deck up to the great room porch then down to the pool area
